Seven-sticker packs: what's new in the Panini 2026 World Cup album
One of the biggest talking points of the 2026 edition is the return of Panini's 7-sticker packs. Since the 2014 World Cup, packs had come with 5 stickers each. Now, in 2026, packs grow back β and the reasons go beyond nostalgia.
What changes in practice
- Each pack now contains 7 stickers instead of 5
- Pack price rises from R$ 5 (in 2022) to R$ 7
- Price per sticker stays roughly flat at R$ 1
- The album itself is bigger: 980 stickers versus ~670 in 2022
Why the bigger pack?
The World Cup's expansion to 48 teams forced Panini to rethink album sizing. With nearly 300 more stickers, keeping packs at 5 would have made the completion pace painfully slow and frustrated collectors. Bigger packs are the trade-off.
Is it a better deal in 2026?
On a per-sticker basis, the unit price is about the same. The difference is the scale: there are nearly a thousand stickers to collect. If you love the experience and the trading culture, this is a historic Cup. If you care purely about cost, trading with other collectors is still the most efficient way to finish the album.
Where trading makes the difference
With bigger packs and a bigger album, the odds of pulling duplicates also go up. The World Cup Stickers app uses the camera to identify and auto-count duplicates, shows what's missing per team, and maps swap spots nearby. It's the fastest way to turn duplicates into a completed album.
